Our DISASTER ASSISTANCE RESPONSE TEAM (DART) is the first place to start for many new members with limited 1st responder training. DART members are advanced CERT and basic SAR trained responders ready to assist agencies and our responders as a force multiplier or as community outreach into isolated and affected areas.
The federal Community Emergency Response Team CERT program is designed to train civilians to help them survive emergencies and then help their surrounding neighborhoods with basic rescue and medical skills like first aid and light rescue procedures.
DART takes that to the higher limit with added training like communications, basics water survival and basic light rescue skills, traffic control, site support operations and more. DART and CERT trained members can be used in more ways, like events and smaller local emergencies.
